Adripalita goes to Paris

Bonjour mes amis! It's been almost 2 weeks that I've moved to Paris for my semester abroad and although I already miss my shorts and bright colors, I am super excited to actually be able to dress for seasons (something that doesn't exist in Miami). These two outfits are perfect for going to class and also for exploring the city. I know that layers, my Supergas, and my Longchamp will be my best friends in Paris. Note: always wear the right socks when breaking in cute new boots unless you want huge blisters. Definitely learned that the hard way! Here are my looks :)

Miami Art Lovin'

A few weeks ago, I decided to be a bit of a tourist in my own city and do something different for a change. A short drive to Wynwood later and I found myself amongst tons of tan Italian teenage tourists swarming the Wynwood walls. I was so amazed by how much this area has grown and inspired by the incredible talent these artists have. Later that week, I visited PAMM (Perez Art Museum Miami) for the first time and absolutely loved it. There were so much variety, anything from pop-artist Roy Lichenstein to artists from Venezuela, Puerto Rico, and Cuba! I can't forget the lovely hanging gardens outside the museum, made for such cute pictures :) I'll be posting a bunch of pictures below this along with what I wore so everyone (art connoisseur or not) could get ideas on what to wear for their next art filled day in Miami ;)

Summer Essentials: Birkenstocks and Bikinis

Although we wear bikinis year-round in Miami, now that it's officially summer, we have an excuse to go all out on bikini shopping and on some other summer essentials. One thing that is for certain is that there is no such thing as too many bikinis... just take one look at my bathing suit cabinet and you will agree with me. There are so many different prints and styles and I want them all!! Another top essential this summer are Birkenstocks! Yup, those jesus looking sandals are making a comeback and for all of those that laughed at my birks when I got back from Europe two summers ago, who's laughing now?? Never underestimate style, you never know when it'll be cool ;) Anyways, here are a few of my favorite things for this summer, enjoy!!

This Maaji bikini is great for the beach, pool, or boat party. I love Maaji bikinis because they're comfy and have a different style for every type of body. Also, this Nivea tanning lotion is in my opinion, the best tanning lotion there is. It gives you a great color and is not oily at all. If you can't get your hands on it, drinking some carrot juice before tanning will give you a great color too.

My new nectar sunnies are perfect for the beach. They are super light weight and let's not forget how cute the mirrored glass looks.

Can't decide which Birkenstocks to get? The Gizeh is a great choice. They are the comfiest shoes I own! Steve Madden and Jeffrey Campbell are also making similar sandals. If I didn't own this pair, I would probably go for either of these:

Whatever style you get, these sandals are staying here for good this summer. Get em' while they're hot!

Travel Outfit Guide

I've been traveling for many years now and one thing I always notice at the airport is how awful some people dress for the sake of being comfy. So I spent this Memorial Day Weekend in Caracas and away from the craziness that is hip-hop weekend in Miami and came up with a chic yet comfy outfit for the plane ride. Check it out!

Jacket: Express
Boyfriend Jeans: Carmar
Espadrilles: Steve Madden
T-shirt: Forever 21
Bag: Longchamp
Carry-on: Kipling

Day to Night Skirt

Bonjour!

Sorry for the lack of posts! Midterms and Spring Break laziness took the best of me but today's awesome post will make up for it!

So after doing some intense shopping last week, I found what might be my new favorite skirt and in my opinion, the most versatile skirt a girl could own. It has the perfect amount of cute and flirty all in one. Another great thing is that the flare skirt could be worn for both day and night since its tight but flowy at the same time. I might just get these in every color! Below are my day and night looks with the flare skirt. The day look is perfect for a shopping day while snacking on some macarons from Ladurée. The night look is a go-to outfit for a dinner date or a night out even though I recommend wearing comfier shoes if you plan on dancing a lot ;)

I'll leave you with two skirts I loved from some of my favorite stores just in case you're looking for a flare skirt! Hope you enjoyed my looks!

Singles Awareness Day?

Single or taken, who doesn't enjoy a day where everyone is celebrating love! Whether you're spending Valentine's Day with your significant other or with your besties, you should be accompanied by those that you love on this special day. I know most people dread Valentine's Day when they are single and wish they could go back to elementary school when everyone was your valentine. But I refuse to mope around and await my knight in shining Armani or for cupid to strike on V-day. So here are some ideas for that day if you plan on staying in or going out!

If you plan on going out, instead of wearing red which can imply a sign that you're taken, wear colors like white, cream, or blush pink. They are a lot more inviting. Do a pink lip or even a red lip to make the look fun! Gigi, located in the Midtown area, is having a singles night and will be giving out free cocktails... I don't know about you but I'm there!

If you plan on staying in, plan an epic girls night in with your friends complete with baked goods, lots of wine, and chocolate. And of course, you can't forget the nail polish and a movie as well! Last weekend I watched About Time and absolutely loved it! If you haven't watched it, I suggest you watch it on your girls night in.

How will you spend your Valentine's Day?

Xoxo

As if!

The 90s are back and I couldn't be any happier! Overalls, flannel, and chunky shoes are lurking back into my wardrobe and I sometimes feel like I belong in a Mary-Kate and Ashley movie. I'm ready for this comeback as long as bucket hats and fluorescent slap bracelets stay away, I never really liked those anyway. Let's throw it back it to 1996 and check out my 90s inspired outfits!

Shoes of the Moment!

It is safe to say that I am a shoe addict! My shoes no longer fit in my closet and I've had to get creative to find places to keep them. This however, does not stop me from buying new shoes ;) Here are four pairs of shoes that I am in love with at the moment!

1. Stuart Weitzman Gladiator Flat Sandals $398
2. Schutz 'Slate' Booties $200
3. Timberland Premium Booties $150
4. Jeffrey Campbell 'Everly' Booties $200

Although these shoes are all gorgeous, they are a little pricey. I believe in splurging when it comes to certain shoes, but it is easy to find shoes just as cute as the designer ones that won't necessarily hurt your wallet. I decided to splurge and bought the Schutz lace up booties because a black heel like this one works with almost any outfit. Luckily, for the other shoes I found some awesome lookalikes that were way cheaper. Check out these steals!
Forever 21- $39.90
Forever 21- $36.80

Steve Madden- $69.90

And for the $plurge... Schutz

Golden Globes Top Fashion Picks

Last night were the 71st annual Golden Globe Awards where the best film and television works are recognized for their excellence in 2013. As exciting as the actual award show may be, I was looking forward to the fashion on the red carpet by Hollywood's finest and I definitely was not disappointed! There were so many stunning looks on the carpet that it was hard for me to choose favorites! So to keep things short and sweet, here are my top 3 favorite looks:
Emma Watson in Dior
Lupita Nyong'o in Ralph Lauren
Olivia Wilde in Gucci
Emma Watson killed the red carpet with this gorgeous open back dress paired with sleek black cigarette pants which isn't something you see on a regular basis at a red carpet event. Without a doubt, Emma made the biggest fashion statement of the night. Lupita however did not let Emma take all the fashionista spotlight as she also made a statement in this stunning crimson gown that had a cape! She kept the make up and jewelry simple and allowed the dress to do all the talking. My final favorite of the night was mom-to-be Olivia Wilde in this gorgeous Gucci green gown which did wonders for her eyes and figure as well. Whoa! Such beautiful ladies and sophisticated looks.

Who were your favorites of the night? Comment below! <3

Kimono 着物

When I hear the word kimono I can't help but think about Mulan. So when I heard about all these 'kimonos' becoming a thing in some of my favorite stores, I got super excited because I love Mulan! These kimonos are obviously not traditional and have more of a modern twist. I see it more as an accessory and it adds a little dazzle to any simple outfit. I paired it with some high waisted denim shorts, a black sweater crop top, some simple jewelry, and my favorite black cutout boots. Take a look!
